Trinity United Church of Christ

Especially for YOUTH at Trinity

Our congregation has a long exciting tradition with, to and by YOUTH!

JUNIOR HIGH: A two-year Confirmation program aims at faith formation, and one monthly fellowship program offers fun group activities and outings. Mrs. Judy Southwood convenes, teaches and cares for her 7th and 8th graders every Sunday morning, and Andy Flounders, a college student member of Trinity and an alumnus of it youth programs, coordinates and leads the monthly programs.

SENIOR HIGH: Freshmen through senior participate together in Sunday morning sharing, discussions with a variety of learning styles. "Don't make it like school!" has been the often-repeated request, and we try to honor it. The prayer is to open participants up to the presence of God in their midst. The Bible is the main text, which together with contemporary faith resources provides content, provokes questions of faith and helps the group consider important life issues. Oh yeah, and there's often food!

TUCC "MORE-THAN-A YOUTH GROUP": Community building, silly good fun and occasionally a serious subject is the content of Sunday afternoon/evening activities. A Progressive Dinner, ultimate Frisbee, Nooma videos, a Lock-in, bowling, service projects, and a lot of other things happen throughout the year.

MISSION TRIP: The high point of the year is the summer Youth Mission Trip. We go to serve and the youth work - and play - hard. Recent locations have included Boston, MA., Imokalee, FL., Charleston, S.C., and Chicago, IL. The youth commit themselves to a variety of fund raising projects throughout the year to make the week happen. And it's a BLAST!
